I just want to share that the views of the Presbyterian Church back in the 19th century on bikes, is somewhat common to Saudi Arabia as well.

The link below was an article in the Arab News where it describes the conservative views on cycling some time ago, and amusingly bikes were called &quot;The Devil&#039;s Donkey.&quot;

Sadly, despite the opening up of this country, there seems to be some hesitation with regards to people pursuing cycling as a hobby.  One western expat cyclist was even beaten by some rowdy youths a year ago in the main boulevard of Al-Khobar.  Sad.</description>
